Central Govt Clears 48,000 cr Deal for Tejas Fighters – HAL is getting the Order. The new Air craft system comes with the listed Capability enhancements – Mid-air refueling, Active Electronically Scanned Array Radar, Electronic Warfare suite & Beyond Visual Range missiles.
The Cabinet Committee On Security (CCS) cleared the 48000cr Deal for the 83 Light Combat Aircraft (Thejas), which will result a Collaboration between HAL and other private firms as part of “Make In India” initiative. Indian Air Force is expected to sign a contract with HAL by February.
As per reports, HAL will deliver 73 Tejas Mk 1A and 10 Tejas Mk 1 trainers by 2026. The deal worth rs 48,000 crores would strengthen Indian Airforce’s fleet of
made in India fighter jet LCA Tejas. This deal could make a positive impact for the fleet maker.
This deal would definitely be a game changer for self-reliance in the Indian defense manufacturing and hence the “Make in India” project. HAL has already setup its second lime manufacturing facilities at Nasik and Bangalore Divisions, which definitely would speed up the process.
